Eligibility
Select institutes like Indian Institute of Science (IISc) may allow First Class B.Sc degree holders to directly take admission in an Integrated PhD programme that it offers if they clear an entrance tests. But usually, one requires completing a Master's degree programme in the related science or engineering subject with at least 55% marks and/or do an M.Phil degree programme to get admission in the PhD programme.
To be eligible for research programmes at top-notch institutions, candidates also have to clear appropriate tests like CSIR-UGC NET for JRF; UGC-NET for JRF; DBT JRF; ICMR JRF; JEST; NBHM 2012; IISc Entrance Test; or GATE.
