The M.Phil. Program in Psychology is a research based program and is meant to produce psychologists who are trained in the most advanced and innovative research methods and equipped to take up a careers in teaching or research, pursue doctoral programmes in psychology and develop basic competencies for more specialized training in Psychology.
The program aims at providing students with opportunities to examine emerging specialties in Psychology by employing scientific research methods.

Many psychologists work independently and also team up with other professionals — for example, with other scientists, physicians, lawyers, school personnel, computer experts, engineers, policymakers and managers — to contribute to every area of society.
Thus, we find them in laboratories, hospitals, courtrooms, schools and universities, community health centers, prisons and corporate offices.

There are various options available with good scope. You must opt for the one which matches your interest and skills.
1)
After 12th in Science (Biology, Physics and Chemistry), you may take up medicine, dentistry, agricultural science, dairy science or biological sciences (biochemistry, biotechnology). (ONLY if you fulfill the eligibility criteria).
2)
Apart from doing the degree level courses in science with the conventional combinations you can also choose degree courses in several emerging professional areas such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, computer, business administration.
3)
You can also opt for courses outside the university stream such as hotel management, fashion technology, aircraft maintenance engineering, government accredited computer courses.
However, other than Science stream you may even explore the opportunities Commerce and Humanities offer.
