The intake for UG Arts, Science, Management and Computer Applications is 30 students per subject. Commerce has an intake of 45 students per course. Nizam College was initially affiliated to University of Madras and later became a constituent college of the Osmania University. It received its Autonomous status in 1988-89.
All candidates pursuing degree courses in Nizam College are eligible to enroll in the Certificate and Diploma courses introduced under UGC (COP) add-on scheme by the college.CBSE and ICSC students should indicate marks secured out of 1000 by including the marks of two languages and three relevant optional subjects. Diploma holders should also compute their marks to 1000.Intermediate Vocational courses students should submit relevant equivalent certificates.Applicants may visit the institute campus and collect the application form and prospectus to apply.Selection in all the courses is based on merit in the qualifying examination.

Date of Birth: Applicant must have born between 1st October 1995 and 30th September 2003. Qualification: Candidates must qualify 12th examination or equivalent. Mandatory Subjects: Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) and English as their mandatory subjects. Minimum Percentage: Candidates must score at least 50% marks in 12th with mandatory subjects in first attempt. Minimum Age: Candidates must be at least of 17 years. Maximum Age: Candidates should not be more than 25 years. Fitness: Candidates must be medically fit. The fitness will be checked by Medical Board of Military Medical Officer. Height: Candidates height should not be less than 148 cm. Appearing: Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply. Only female candidates will be eligible to apply for B.Sc. Nursing course.
