This minimum percentile game is tricky. There are things that you need to keep in mind:
1) Which IIM are you looking at? - For IIM Ahmedabad your academic qualifications are not very important. A 65+ in each of X, XII and graduation (if grad score is 70% then X or XII could be between 60 and 65 as well) will ensure that you clear the minimum academic rating score. I don't know much about this exam. But let me clear you that UG and PG entrance exams are never same because they have different syllabuses. UG entrance exam will be having syllabus up to 10+2 and PG entrance exam will be having syllabus upto UG course and additional, if any, as per the institute.

Placements: 70 (approximately) seniors got placed in mechanical department out of some 180. Earlier there were more than 400 students in mechanical department in 2015 passed out batch in which 180 were placed. But as years passed there came a downfall in placements. Still November of this 2017 only one student was placed from the final year. In the last 4 months the remaining 60-65 got placed. Around 30-35 were placed in core I guess.
Infrastructure: In case of infrastructure CEG is really good. There are teams for all the sports practicing daily. Labs are well-equipped with air conditioners. There is a medical centre inside the campus

As per the official notification, candidates who are going to appear in UGC NET Examination must possess the post-graduation degree from the recognised university with minimum 55% marks. The marks will be calculated overall including the all the semester's marks. Previously CBSE was the conducting agency of the UGC NET exam.
