It was honestly a good experience for me. When I joined, I thought it would be just regular classes and exams, but it turned out to be much more than that.

A few things I really liked were:

Internship opportunities to get practical experience.

Guest lectures from industry professionals.

Industry visits that gave us real business exposure.

Workshops and skill-development sessions.

Placement training and mock interviews.

A friendly campus and supportive faculty.

The biggest change for me was in my confidence. I became more comfortable speaking in front of people, working in teams, and interacting with professionals. I also learned a lot outside

Honestly, that's how I felt about GIBS. It never felt like I was just going to college, attending classes, and coming back home.

Before joining, I had compared a few colleges and even spoke to friends and cousins who were studying in different places. After all that, I finally chose GIBS Bangalore, and I'm really glad I did.

Throughout my PGDM, there was always something happening—workshops, guest sessions, industry visits, internships, college events, and placement activities. I got to meet new people, learn from industry experts, and improve my confidence along the way.

I later got placed at KPMG, and when I look back now, I feel GIBS

It is not called a fake Ivy, at least not officially. Cornell University remains a fully legitimate and important member of the Ivy League athletic conference. The below given maybe the reasons for Cornell being called a fake Ivy -

  • While being selective, Cornell acceptance rate is much higher than that of other members of the Ivy League like Harvard and Stanford
  • Cornell is the the youngest Ivy League with its founding year 1865. Unlike older Ivies built for the rich, this university was founded on modern and egalitarian principles which advocated inclusion of all races and genders from day 1.

Yes, Cornell actively recruits and welcomes Indian talent, with many already enrolled there. In fact, Indian students are one of the largest groups at Cornell.

As per the selectivity, the Cornell admissions are brutal with its acceptance rate going as low as 8.9%. It is even less for international students.

Also, Indian students are eligible to apply for the Tata Scholarship, which funds 20 UG students every year. It covers the Cornell tuition for the full duration of 4 years Bachelors degree
