To become a Game Designer, you must get a good knowledge of 3D software as well as preproduction. Usually in Games the environment is created in 3DSMax and Character animations in Maya, Only the models are made with less polygons and more textures. So choose a program that teaches you these software. It would not matter whether the programme is called game design programme or not. Rest, to become a level designer you must have a passion for game design. Also you must have passion for playing all kinds of games including card games, dice games, sports etc. The 3rd option is Game Design (it's different from Game Designer), where you design the game itself, i.e. what happens on each level, and how things go about as well as the base story of the game. It is a stage that you reach due to your vast knowledge and passion and even exceptional technical skills cannot help you reach. This is usually the story designer. May I ask, have you ever designed a game? Finally, to do game programming you would require knowledge of programming in which usually a BCA/ MCA would help. IIST is Asia’s first Space Institute and the first in the world to offer the complete range of undergraduate, post graduate, doctoral programmes with specific focus to space science, technology and applications.
This unique concept took root in January 2007, when IIST was registered as a Society under the Travancore -Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955. Admission to Under Graduate Programmes (B.Tech. 2013)
Admission to Undergraduate Programmes (B.Tech) for the year 2013 will be based on the All India Rank List (including category rank list) to be prepared and published for the year 2013 by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This rank list is based on 60% weightage of score in the Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Main) – 2013, and 40% of normailised score in Class 12th or other qualifying examinations. The total number of seats for the undergraduate programmes in IIST is 156. The branch-wise distribution of seats is as follows:
B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering: 60 seats
B.Tech. in Avionics: 60 seats
B.Tech. in Physical Sciences: 36 seats
M.Tech. Programmes.
IIST offers M.Tech. programmes under (i) Regular Academic stream for admission of general candidates, and under (ii) DoS / ISRO stream for admission of young scientists and engineers in select areas relevant to ISRO programmes.
