Over the past few years, Banasthali Vidyapith has been ranked under multiple streams, including Management, Engineering, Commerce and Computer Applications. There are many opportunities too but the students themselves need to harness it. As a Masters student, you need to take an initiative and work on it. You got to work hard to develop yourself if you are in Banasthali because we don't have clubs like marketing, finance or HR.
1-No clubs for conducting activities though we have UDAAN sessions for MBA students.
2- It's too hard to search for a 6-month internship. So, start leveraging your LinkedIn network from the end of 1st Sem.
3-Placement is not guaranteed.4-Taking leave is a tedious task.
5- Teachers are too much involved in every task. Let the students do what they want to do!
6-There is no specific placement cell. There is no student's placement coordinator. The CRs are randomly chosen for coordination. Banasthali is improving its MBA education. I suggest Personality development classes for students. MBA if not pursued from premiere b schools doesn't really add any value. Today, when the economy is not at its best, even the top b schools are struggling to achieve 100% placement. So, you can imagine the condition of the others. In Banasthali, you can at best expect a package of 4 to 5 LPA and not sure if it can place even 50% of its batch. So, you can understand.

I do not know about the academics in CS. I was from another department. If you choose CS you will definitely get placed, given that you are famous in the college I mean, you should hangout with professors, host programs etc. Yes you will have to pay the college 20 to 25% of your CTC package if I am not wrong. They will have you take a compulsory training before placements and you will have to cough up some 8 to 10k. This is when NHCE was under VTU after they bought the Autonomous status, it is at least ten fold now. Fines for not wearing ID cards is the only place they looted me. Yes, they are money minded. Rumour is that they encroached an adjacent community and built the college in their premises. The fees is high and the quality of education is satisfactory. It is more business than education. There is a lot of partiality and double standards among students and departments. To sum up, they do snatch your money, but if you know how to duck it, you are fine.

The cheapest way to get from Thrissur to University of Calicut is to train which takes 2h13m and costs Rs.650-Rs1,400. Alternatively, you can take bus, which costs Rs.1,000-Rs1,400 and takes 2h 33m. But the buses are more frequent, and you can get down right at the University Bus Stop and walk to the Campus. On a good day, with minimal traffic and good roads, it might take around 3-4 Hours (depending upon the speed of the bus). Trains are less frequent. There might be delays. One has to get down either at Parappanangadi, or at Calicut, and then take a bus to the University. (Train Tickets cost Rs 50 for Express trains, 65 for Superfast, and 25 for Passenger). From Parappanangadi, Private and KSRTC Ordinary/LS/TT costs Rs 13. From Calicut, around 20). But trains are less risky, and better suited for those with motion-sickness. Moreover, trains do have Toilets, if the need arises.
