I agree that private colleges are expensive. But if you cannot get through any of the NLUs, you are not left with any other choice. Having said that - there are a lot of private colleges which have a vast infrastructure, good faculty and great placements. So, if you can afford it then go for it - you will earn much more when you start working and you will realise then how worth it is. You have not mentioned which private college you are referring to - I would have given you the feedback on that college. For Law - Symbiosis / OP Jindal / Amity / Bennette / Sharda University, etc., are all in good category colleges.

No, Maths subject is not necessary for hotel management courses. The eligibility criteria of D.Y. Patil IHMCT college for BHMCT program is as under.
Eligibility: Candidate should have passed the H.S.C. (Std XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination in Science/Home Science Commerce/Arts/MCVC with English as one of the subject and secured minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% marks in aggregate for reserved class category candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only).
And Candidate should have appeared for MAH/HM/CET securing a non-zero score.
