This relies on the particular exam that you're planning to give. The Mining Engineering entrance tests are mostly challenging and quite competitive, given the increasing demand for the course among students and limited seats at colleges. To get a seat at top institutes like the IITs and NITs, you need to prepare very well and achieve an excellent rank in the entrance exam.

The time required for the entrance exam preparation for Mining Engineering admissions cannot be said with any certainty, but it is better to start at least 6 to 8 months before the final exam is tentatively scheduled to take place. This gives you enough time on hand to cover the entire syllabus, practice question papers, take mock tests, and revise the important topics in the last 1-2 months to increase your chances of scoring well and getting shortlisted for admission at top colleges.

Yes, many universities abroad, including top-ranked ones like MIT, have waived the GRE requirement for MS programs. Indian students can pursue degrees such as MS in Computer Science and Data Science, without GRE. There is a long list of universities in the world that does not require GRe score.

If the GRE is waived, you must submit academic transcripts, degree certificates, resume, statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, admission essays, and English proficiency scores. With one component waived, competition may increase, so submitting a GRE score voluntarily can still strengthen your application.
