To get admission in MBA at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), candidates must follow the below steps:

What is your review of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University For Women?

It’s going to be a bit long because I am what I am because of this college.

I passed out from IGIT (now IGDTUW) in 2011 from Mechanical and Automation Engineering. Let me touch on all of the factors that you mentioned (although every aspect is fairly well explained by Aayushi Khandelwal)

Infrastructure: Well ventilated buildings, large campus, metro station nearby, bus stop just behind the college and a really beautiful and grand Auditorium (memories are made here). The construction is of British Era. The admin block used to be a jail (you can figure this out if you’ve ever gone there looking for store keeper).

Library: Not that great but still has enough resources to get you through the semester. And if you feel the books aren’t enough in numbers, photostat shops come to the rescue and they’re inside the campus.

Laboratories: The labs were well-equipped when I was there (we did break some stuff while performing experiments). A large number of equipments were purchased during our time and the last time I was there it felt like an IIT laboratory. They’ve caught up with this stuff really well now. IGDTUW has now got industry supported projects going on at least in the Mechanical Department (funded by Fluor Daniel), I am not sure about deptts.

Academics: Faculty can be divided into two categories; Excellent and Very good. Professors have in depth knowledge of their subjects and they impart it perfectly to students. Some of them may not be that good at teaching but their knowledge is good. Again this is comparative. I know the same to be true for other branches as well.

Researches: HOD of Mechanical deptt. during our time, Dr. Chitra Sharma, had 20 research papers published in International Journals and many more in national and international conferences. Publishing in Mechanical Engineering is difficult than Computer Science because of the scale of the project and investment, so research in CS is far more widespread than MAE. You want to publish a research paper, you just reach out to the professors and they’ll help you get one published and you may also end up being a publisher in an international journal.

Placements: The world is always in need of women engineers and hence the placement graph never goes too low here. Where would you find female mechanical engineers in the world? ! The packages are good. Some are even better than DTU (specifically CS). Mechanical has seen a placement of 8lacs p.a. and the average comes around 5lacs (this was around 6 years ago and it’s bound to improve every year) which is good as a starting salary in this field. CS is like the brightest shining star, above 10lacs p.a. is normal and it has touched 20lacs p.a. as well.

Timings: On paper 9–5. But not very strict. You’re free from your lab early, leave. Don’t feel like attending the last lecture, leave. But just don’t let your attendance drop too low. That’s not nice.

Events: Something you should always look out for. SAE Mini BAJA, Formula One model are two major events that IGIT has always been a part of and has almost always won a prize for, then there are events involving solar powered cars that IGDTUW has participated in and the list is extending every year. Then you have various robotics event which are vey exciting as you get to build your own robot. The fests are a grand affair and also give you an excuse to bunk a boring lecture ;). In short it’s a happening place.

Comparison with IIT, NIT, DTU: I always say, if you’re a girl and you wanna study engineering in Delhi, prioritise your colleges like this:

It is known as IIT for Girls. We’ve been addressed by this name at IITD for the award function for the prestigious Kalpana Chawla award.It makes you that strong independent woman that you’ve always dreamt of being.

KJ Somaiya Institute of Management (KJSIM) is considered to be one of the reputed colleges for Management education in Mumbai. By paying this fee amount, students are able to get a the highest and average package of INR 22.50 LPA and INR 12.28 LPA as per the latest placement information released by the institute.It is a decent MBA college with good infrastructure and placements . Some of the noted names in the Tier 2 B-schools include KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (KJSIMSR) Mumbai, TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) Manipal, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) Bangalore, Institute of Management, Nirma University Ahmedabad, to name a few.
