To become a commercial pilot :
-You need to first possess a Student Pilot License.
-You must be over 17 years of age and have completed +2 with Physics and Maths and register at a flying club which is recognized by Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India. Registration requires a medical certificate, security clearance and a bank guarantee.

To join Merchant Navy, you just require, plus two (PCM) with 1 year pre-sea training as a deck cadet.
After completing B.Sc.(Nautical Science) in the officer cadre, it will lead you to become captain after 5-7 years of experience.
