It's nice to know that you are already thinking of continuing your education by seeking Admission under a lateral admission mode in COEP in information technology. It is good to know the cutoffs of previous years but if you ask me, they have only limited usefulness. This is because this changes from year to year in the same branch in the same college. This is so since the admissions under a lateral mode in Maharashtra are based on the results of Diploma and the marks obtained in diploma vary from year to year. In addition to this, the student preference changes and this causes a shift in the priority and consequent enhancement of cutoffs in that particular branch in that particular year. Be that as it may but what can be definitely said is that the cutoffs in COEP will definitely be above 90% Hence my advice to you will be to study well in your Diploma and aim to get at least 95% marks to be sure of your admission in your desired college.

Instead of taking admission in B.Sc, You can opt for B.Voc Degree in Medical Lab Technology. B.Voc is a work integrated degree programme where applicants get opportunity to earn while learning. In this programme theory classes happen at International Skills Academy (training hub partner) and practical training is conducted at best Hospitals, Pathology Labs etc. B.Voc degree in Medical Lab Technology is offered by Tata Institute of Social Sciences - School of Vocational Education (TISS-SVE), a NAAC A+ government. Hello Siddharth, I must say that's a very good question!
Since it is an open ended question and unlike the others questions on the platform, it is reflective in some sense, so I will answer in terms of what I think and believe. Both engineering and MBA are too mainstream. Both have been the typical things to do, since years. Engineering is now made fun of because it is the only field where supply exceeds demand and because of which people are jobless. It has lost its value because today it is not as sought-after as it used to be 20 years ago. Trends and times have changed. But mind you this is not the case with MBA. Yes, it is the most typical thing to do and everyone does it because it is open for anyone from any field BUT MBA is the hottest thing because MANAGERS ARE NEEDED EVERYWHERE. MBA graduates from top Iims are needed because management and money making is needed everywhere. Start-ups are the hot thing now. Entrepreneurship is being promoted like anything. Unlike engineering, corporate world is ever evolving. Everyone, be it a content writer or a fashion designer wants to go in the corporate to either earn lots of money or to monetise their passion. You see that? I am not sure if there is an oversupply right now but I believe MBA degree will soon reach its saturation level in the coming years, Siddharth, if it stop evolving and loses its value.
