Unfortunately, for majority of the Indian states and majority of the deemed to be universities, there is no direct admission based on your 12th results. However, some deemed to be universities do give admission directly based on your 12th result if you are in the top bracket or you are a rank holder for 12th. The only state where you can get admission in any of the engineering colleges without appearing for any entrance exam is Tamil Nadu. You also can seek admission under the quota of other states in this southern state of India. Else you will have to appear for some or the other entrance test to get admission in not

Basic qualifications required by you are - basics of coding in Java, c+, python or any language. Since mechatronics is a new branch combining mechanical and electronics, you should be familiar with the basics of mechanics and electronics taught in 11th and 12th grade. Apart from that whichever branch you choose, to pursue a great career you need to be passionate enough.
