CAT is the toughest management entrance exams to crack. CMAT is relatively easier to crack as compared to CAT. The CMAT exam was introduced with the objective to reduce the stress student's experienced when preparing for a management entrance exam. MAT on the other hand is conducted 4 times a year and allows students access to the second tier b-schools in the country.
1. Common Management Aptitude Test is another national level entrance exam which is conducted online (computer based test) by AICTE. This exam is good for those students who are from Maharashtra as DTE (Directorate of Technical Education), Maharashtra considers best of the two scores out of CMAT score and MAH CET score (either you need to take the CMAT or MAH CET to provide you access in the top colleges like JBIMS and other top institutes of Mumbai/Pune.
2. MAT stands for Management Aptitude Test. MAT is conducted by AIMA (All India Management Association) and is recognised by MHRD, GOI as a National Level Entrance Test. The exam is conducted 4 times a year. A score of 80 to 100 is considered as a good attempt in MAT While the score of 290-300 in CMAT will lead the student to top business school. Students who secure more than 95 percentile in MAT or CMAT can be selected for the top B-Schools. Some of the top colleges considering CMAT score are Goa Institute of Management, Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai and many other. Some of the top colleges considering MAT score are International School of Management Patna, Christ Institute of Management Pune, International Management Centre New Delhi and many others. So my choice is CMAT because this held once in an year and provides enough opportunity for preparation.
