Manoj, looking at your question I have a gut feeling that you must try and prosper in your existing field itself. For this you need to learn the work under your present contractor in such a way that you yourself take sub-contractorship from him and then gradually develop as a full fledged Contractor yourself. An educational degree might not be of that much use to you. So focus on the practical nature of the work you are doing and see how can you quickly learn other jobs related to your existing prime job. Focus more on the job technicalities and on Liaisoning work.

Part-time MBA is not as good for the Freshers and that is because of the lack of relevant work experience. Freshers should try and do MBA through regular course only, or else do a job for 2 to 3 years and then go through the part-time route for MBA. Some relevant work experience is beneficial / neccesary to succeffully absorb the management knowledge through distance or part-time mode.
