The scorecard of GATE is valid for 3 years. However, many PSUs often restrict of using old GATE scorecard. Many PSUs accept GATE scorecard of current year or at least one year old result scorecard.

Many new NITs do accept 500 score in GATE for M.Tech admission. Here are some NITs that accept GATE scores between 400 - 500 -

Many new IITs do accept low GATE scores for M.Tech admission. Some old IITs also accept low GATE score, depending on category and other factors. Here are some IITs that accept low GATE scores for admission.

• IIT Bhilai

• IIT Ropar

• IIT Jodhpur

These IITs mainly accept GATE scores starting from 330 to 400 (General Category), mainly in Round 4 or 5 of COAP counselling.

Securing 2500 rank in GATE is considered good. With this rank, you can get admission to new IITs, top NITs and IIITs as well. However, opportunities for PSU jobs can be limited.  GATE AIR of 2500 can roughly correspond a GATE score of 670 to 750.

The Psychometric Test in MICAT serves as a qualifier. There is no specific numerical qualifying score revealed, but candidates must pass this section to have the remaining sections of their exam evaluated.

MICAT scores are valid for one admission cycle only. Candidates seeking admission into the PGDM and PGDM-C batch of 2026-28 can only use their MICAT 2026 scores.

The GATE scorecard on 2026 will be valid till 2029. With the help of GATE result scorecard, qualified candidates can apply for M.Tech and PhD at IITs, IISc, NITs, and other engineering colleges in India. With valid GATE scorecard, applicants can also apply for PSU recruitments, such as NTPC, GAIL, AAI, BHEL, etc.

No, MICA does not send physical copies of the MICAT scorecard via post. Candidates must log in to the official portal, download the digital scorecard, and take a printout for future reference.

Candidates can know if MICAT results are announced by checking the official MICA website. The institute updates the portal with direct links to download the scorecard as per the official timeline.

MICA might send an email or SMS to registered candidates once the scores are uploaded. However, candidates are strongly advised to regularly track the official website to check the results promptly.

Yes, GATE rank is valid for three years. However, some PSUs might not accept previous year's GATE scorecard. Therefore, it is better to go through guidelines and official notification before applying. If a candidate has more than two GATE scorecard, then they must use the one with best score and rank. 

GATE 2026 scorecard will be made available for free download from March 27 to May 31. Later from June 1 to December 31, the scorecard can be downloaded by paying a fee of INR 500. The GATE scorecard 2026 will remain valid till 2029.

After MICAT results are announced, MICA releases a shortlist for Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. Shortlisted candidates must book their slots and participate in these rounds for final selection.
