You may join animation course while doing a Degree or even do a Degree in Animation Itself.
As an advisor, one could give his/her own opinion but it may vary.

no this is not neccesaory to join animation course after designing part this is basic of any designing course in designing course you can learn about Photoshop in which you learn to edit images and make images , in advance you can learn flash
