Eligibility Criteria (General for CSE)
To be eligible for B.Tech CSE admissions in 2026:
10+2 or equivalent passed/appearing (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) from a recognised board.
Most colleges require Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
Minimum aggregate marks usually ~ 45–50% (varies by institute/state category).
2. Entrance Exams for B.Tech CSE (2026)
National Level Exams
These are accepted by most top engineering colleges across India:
JEE Main 2026 – National entrance for NITs, IIITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutes, and many private colleges.
Conducted in two sessions:
• Jan 21–30, 2026 (Session 1)
• Apr 1–9, 2026 (Session 2)
JEE Advanced 2026 – Entrance for IITs for candidates who qualify through JEE Main.
(tentatively scheduled around May 2026).
State Level Entrance Exams
Many states conduct their own tests for state engineering college seats:
GUJCET 2026 – Gujarat state entrance (March 29, 2026)
KCET / COMEDK UGET (Karnataka) – For admissions to engineering colleges in Karnataka.
MHT‑CET 2026 (Maharashtra), etc.
University / Institute Level Exams
Many universities run their own tests as well:
SRMJEEE 2026 – SRM Institute engineering entrance (multiple sessions)
BITSAT 2026 – For BITS campuses (Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad)
VITEEE 2026 – For VIT campuses (Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal, Amaravati)
LPUNEST, SITEEE, etc. – Other institutes' exams accepted.

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Registration: Expected October–November 2025
JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Exam: Jan 21–30, 2026
Session 2 Registration: January 2026
Session 2 Exam: Apr 1–9, 2026
JEE Advanced 2026: Around May 2026
State and institute level tests like GUJCET, MHT‑CET, SRMJEEE, VITEEE, etc., are scheduled at various points between Jan–May 2026.
4. Admission Routes (Typical)
➤ Through JEE Main
Most NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and many private colleges accept JEE Main scores.
Counseling via JoSAA / CSAB takes place after JEE Main results.
➤ Through State Entrance Tests
Seats in state colleges filled via state exam counseling (e.g., GUJCET, KCET, MHT‑CET).
➤ Through Institute Level Exams
Some universities reserve seats via their own tests like SRMJEEE, VITEEE, BITSAT.
➤ Direct / Management Seats
Some colleges may offer direct admission based on board marks or management quota (vary by college, not central).
