SAP-ABAP vs Oracle DBA.

I m also inclined more towards SAP than DBA. But as SAP fees is too high at education partner, i m not finding it feasible to pursue. So i wud like to know that whether SAP can be learned from institutes apart from SAP-education partners.? Does institute have any significant impact on Resume.?
