Scope of foreign language in future

I have done my graduation and want to learn a foreign language. So I need to know which foreign language has more scope in future - German, French ,any other language? What is the duration of learning a foreign language?

It is certainly a good achievement knowing multiple languages in these days of Globalization. Interpreters are not easily available for certain of the foreign languages which are a bit remote from the Indian context.
