It will be better to take admission in Sastra University than to take a drop.
It is not that by taking drop you will get admission in IITs. -

You can take Sastra University. It is not equal to IIT but the placements and education are better. And yes it is a dilemma whether you can get IIT the next year also as many have failed to get even they have dropped a year.
And if you can get your desired course then opt for Sastra University.
You cannot get the exposure like IITs but Sastra University is better than many other universities in India.
