Shall I join Diploma via lateral entry or should I get admission directly in second year? I got 79% in HSC but I cannot get top colleges.

What's your JEE or State Engineering Exam score. It depends on your score and your category while getting a college. Do proper research about colleges and there cut-offs. Search for colleges in your city/town or state. You can get some good colleges in Pune.
