Drawing from my experience of working with reputed corporate houses for over 20 years, I am of the opinion, that you have to be doubly careful, when choosing HR. Human Resource is a very critical function and gives direction to organizational goals by making effective use of intellectual capital. HR professionals are born and not made. You need to have it in you to succeed in this line. Ultimately, people do not work for organizations. They work for people. Students, in general, have a wrong notion that HR is an easy function. It is not. One wrong selection will cost the organization heavily. You also need to have a strong background in sociology or psychology to succeed in this line. I am in no way dissuading you, but do make the choice after lot of thought. Assuming that you are cut out for HR, you should at institutes like Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS - MUMBAIi) or Xaviers' Labor Relations Institute (XLRI) - JAMSHEDPUR
