Should a student who studied 12th from Madhya Pradesh board take a drop for JEE coaching?
I asked this question because CBSE students do a lot of practice over numerical solving while Madhya Pradesh board students concentrate on theory. Will a one year drop be sufficient to get around 200 marks in JEE Mains? In 12th class, I've got 85.4%.

7 years agoIf you really want to study in any IIT or NIT, then taking a drop is not a problem. Engineering hasn't lost it's scope, but there are a crowd of skill less people in the market. Without skills and technical knowledge, engineering is just a graduation. I also did BE in Mechanical engineering. Doing engineering is better than other degrees, as it opens your mind. Drop is not taken only for BE./B.Tech , MBS etc. But, anyone can do B.Sc. Or other degree in any stream from reputated University or college. Don't be negative in life towards any studies. -

If you have belief in yourself then only you should take a drop otherwise go with a private college.
-
If you have scored 75% in 12 board and determined to get into IITs or NITs you should take drop and achieve what you want.
-
If you think that you can improve yourself after 1-year drop then go for it.

Dear Shivansh, I think dropping for a year would be mere waste of time, as dropping a year has no surety of this that next year you will definitely score 200 marks in JEE. Better would be that with these good marks in class 12th, you should look for some good colleges/ universities for admission. There are many good private universities like Lovely Professional University, Manipal University, SRM, etc. are offering B.Tech. They have their different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on basis of JEE scores, some offer admission on basis of their own tests and some offer admission on the basis of both. Some even offer direct a...more
