It is completely up to you. However, the change can be done only after completion of one year, i.e., 2 semesters. Also, it depends on the number of vacancies in CSE. There will be a minimum CGPA requirement as well.

    Hello Shashi Kumar,
It totally depends on your score in the first year. If you have really scored well, you might get a transfer in the CS branch. But mind that if you get an opportunity, read about all the branches' courses and then decide the best option for you. Hope this helps!

Chemical Engineering and CSE are both no way related to each other. If you have a desire interest in learning computation, Coding, if you love maths. Then, CSE can be a better option. Also Job prospects in CSE from IIT is much better. Though Chemical has its own advantages. Its totally your decision upon what yours interest lie. If coding is what you love go for it.

Why not? But always keep in mind that you have to be a good programmer also. If you are not interested in coding, never ever think of taking CSE.

It completely depends on your interest and strengths. If you like coding and you are good at it then yes, you can change your branch.
