Should i continue with engg. field after 12th or, is it ok for me to take up just plain B.Sc or B.A as only graduation is required for IAS

I have just 73% in 12th science & 76/200 in CET so, should i take up B.A. /B.Sc for gradution purpose, as i want to have a career in civil services ,i fear too that if i can't make it then, i would be left without any job. or should i try getting admission in engineering
