Should I drop 1 year? I got 159 marks in JEE Mains 2017.

159 marks are good. You can get good NIT. I want to tell you that Most Dropper's JEE marks decrease after dropping. Not everyone, but mostly.

Dear, Dropping one year is not a wise decision. 159 is good enough score. I think you will get good NIT with your desired stream. Best wishes.

Yes, surely. For you, its better to take a gap of 1 year. You are nearer to get any NITs or IIITs. You can easily get 220+ next year. If you prepare some more it will be not tough to get IIT. So, drop a year

See, it finally depends on you as at 159 you are still getting good Central Institutions. But finally it depends on your desired stream/branch & institution of preference. If you want to score better & go for the top ranking institutions I'll better suggest you to give a drop this year.

It totally depends on you. If you want to study in IIT, then you can drop but if you are okay with NIITs then do not drop, the decision is yours.
