Should I drop this year or take admission in LPU for pursuing B.Tech in civil engineering?

Hi In my opinion dropping year will give a gap of a year and will slacken you. You need to join the university of your choice and start with your academic career by working hard. LPU will make you polish your skills to the core and you will not regret not dropping a year. Log in to the website of LPU for admission because you can avail the best scholarships only till 15th June. Book your LPU NEST also from the portal of LPU. I don't think it is a good idea to drop a year, Being alumni I must suggest, you should definitely take the admission in LPU in B.Tech. Civil engineering. If you have total faith in yourself and your hardwork and you think you can definitely pass for whatever thing you're dropping for then go for it, but if you don't want to waste a year in that then Go for the college you have got and simultaneously (if possible) prepare for the college you are going to drop for, and give the exam next year. Dear Xeeshan, I can give you the answer to this question based on the feedback received from my friends who are currently studying Civil Engineering at LPU. Besides, few colleagues of mine who have previously worked in the same Deptt. So, the following are the highlights of Civil engineering in LPU: - 1. Most of the faculty staff are from reputed organizations with the highest degree from various reputed institutes such as IITs, NITs, etc. Apart from that, faculty have got previous industrial experience also. 2. The capstone project is an integral part of the B.Tech programme in which students have to pick a live project based on the practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills. 3. There is an internship programme that could be an opportunity for getting work experience and increase your chance to get employment after you pass out. But, of course, your academic record should be good to get this placement option. 4. Industrial visits are organized to nearby construction sites from time to time. There, you can SEE actual construction work going on. Be prepared to have dust on your shoes (believe me, it will be worth a lot). You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you. 5. You will get some courses from soft skills, English language, mental and analytical aptitude side. This sounds dull to you as of now. But you will feel its importance when you face an interview panel in a company during your placement drives. 6. They have very good placement records and good infrastructure companies visit their campus, L & T, Simplex Piles Ltd, Era Infrastructure, Gammon India Ltd to name a few. 7. Career-oriented Software training in project labs is given. To work in this profession, you are supposed to be familiar with software like MS-Project, STAAD Pro, MX Road, etc. Nonetheless, you will be trained in Auto CAD in your second year which is a prerequisite for any Civil Engineer. 8. Every theory course is complemented with relevant lab-based practical work. Some of the labs are based on field testing where experimental work is to be done, e. g. Soil Lab & Surveying Lab. Hi Xeeshan, dropping for a course and wasting full one year is not a good idea. Just appear for LPU NEST you will be able to clear it. Its a subject specific proctored test, I am sure you will be able to make it. As an advisory, if I say LPU is worth Joining. I am in contact with many students who just passed out last year from LPU and completed graduation in the same stream. Well because of Covid-19, you should not drop this year. You should continue with your studies. LPU provides a great academic exposure to its students. Hi, Dropping a year is never a good option. You must take admission in LPU for pursuing a B.Tech in civil engineering because LPU is the best to pursue civil engineering. LPU has its student organisation known as &quot;bridge, &quot; which conducts various events and competitions to bring forth creativity and to award the best engineer in the making. The consortium of former LPU alumni and an active group of engineering professionals with a sound civil background share their experience on various technologies, industries, methodologies, and processes adapted by many MNC. Moreover, Intellectual Industry officials regularly visit the school to guide faculty members and students themselves. Workshops are being arranged for enhancing student knowledge. School of Civil Engineering, Lovely Professional University, has signed MOU with NHAI for giving paid internship opportunities to our existing Civil Engineering students.
