Hello Manisha,
It's not compulsory, but an MBA with some valid experience is always beneficial as it helps you get an edge over the freshers during the admission process, relating better to the MBA curriculum and in the final placements too.

One year work experience counts, but is not given much importance. 2 years' work-ex is considered ideal. And if your job provides you with better career growth, then you can stick with it. Else you may work for 1-3 years and then decide whether to go for promotion or MBA. If the promotion is really
