Should I go for a job or for M.Tech? I love learning new things about mechanical engineering and have an interest in automobiles.

Some of my seniors have advised me to go for M.Tech and some of them advised me to go ahead with a job. I would love to work with core companies rather than IT sector. Others have advised me to pursue some short-term courses and then apply for the job. What should I do?
