Should I go for an admission in MBA/PGDM this year or should I wait? I have already taken a 1-year gap between my Bachelor's and MBA.

Hi there, Already taken a year gap and still undecided ! Lets discuss about the gap year, how did you use it? Some work experience or maybe preparation for entry examination. Either ways if you are contemplating doing MBA, means you are not quite satisfied by your job/experience. You must take into account your interest, aptitude, hobbies, attitude, personality traits, bent of mind, career goals and aspirations. If all these point towards having a management degree, then only go for it. I would suggest you go in for MBA this year itself, since the economies are crippled, finding decent jobs will be a bit difficult without the industry relevant skills. The next main point is; from where to do my MBA/PGDM ! I would suggest you do it from only the institutions of high repute with solid track records. Some parameters n how to choose a college/university are: Course curriculum which must be relevant to industry and developed with industry consultations, technology trainings must be a part of curriculum to acquaint the students with them. You must look for a B-School which has a good diversity of students in terms of their cultures, working/studying in multicultural teams helps in developing right sensibilities and team work capability in difficult situations. Entrepreneurship training is must in any MBA programme, not only for those who want to be businessmen but everyone, this exposes the students to situations where they learn interdepartmental dependence and profit making. Since you want to have a stable career, the placements from campus become very important. You must check the placement records too. Last but not the least, you have already lost an years undecided, putting more financial strain is not advisable, choose the college with best scholarships. Some suggestions from my side are Iims, SIBM, ISB, SPJMER, FMS Delhi, MDI, LPU, Great lakes etc. Do check your eligibility and other formalities for admissions from their websites though. Hello! I would always say why waste an year when you can get the best now. If you already have 1 year gap, then I would say don't waste more time. Get yourself enrolled this year.
