With two years of experience, I would say that you can try for better b-schools. IMT is a top 20 school no doubt but due to the large batch size, the average CTCs are lower than what they used to be 6 years ago. Also, certain top brands in finance and consulting do not visit IMT for placements. For marketing, IMT is still considered good. So, take a call. If you can make it to one of the older IIMs, XLRI, ISB, MDI, IIFT or SPJain, that would really be better and would ctalyze your path to become a consultant.
All the best. -

At GIBS, they keep the entrance exam part really simple. For PGDM or MBA, they accept almost all the common exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, and GMAT. Even state-level or institute-level scores are considered.
Honestly, GIBS doesn't stress too much about “only one specific exam.” As long as you have written any of these exams and meet the basic cut-off, you're good to apply. They focus more on your overall profile, communication, and interest in management rather than just exam marks.

Getting into the MBA programme of NIT Trichy with a 300 SC CAT rank is somewhat uncertain. As the recent data sets suggest, NIT Trichy's CAT cutoff for SC category admission stands around 65th percentile. A 300 SC rank could be borderline depending on how many SC candidates apply and the quality of the overall candidate pool.
In CAT marks terms, to reach around the 300 SC rank, you'd likely need a CAT percentile of 65–70, which roughly translates to a CAT score of about 60–65 out of 198, assuming the normalization and difficulty remain similar.
However, final admission also depends on other factors like your academic profile, w
For candidates pursuing MBA, the eligibility criteria includes merit and entrance based selection. Whereas, for BBA, candidates must qualify Class 12 with a minimum aggregate. JIIT CDOE MBA on the other hand, is offered based on the minimum aggregate of graduation. However, for the final admission, candidates must meet the cutoff rank or score and must secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as CAT.
That's a wonderful goal to push your son toward right at the start. To obtain previous CAT model papers, you can check many available popular exam preparation books in any bookstore or online store. Almost all the sites discussed before offer free PDFs with question paper solutions to look over the previous years' papers. You could also consult seniors and teachers who had taken the standardized test as well. All these resources will help wit
