You can take admission in B.Tech lateral entry after completing your 3 year diploma. Lovely Professional University is best option to pursue the same course.
I did MBA from LPU and I had many friends from Civil Engineering, so I have idea course,Placements,Curriculum, etc.One of my friend told that,This programme at LPU include a blend of hands-on experiential learning and theoretical foundational courses. Others may include independent research with faculty members another good bet for individuals hoping to go directly into research or the workforce upon graduation.
Coming to faculty, they are one of the best mentors to us & everything here is up to the mark. The faculty is supporting if one is willing to learn. They teach the subjects with their full effort. Writing board, screen-projector, labs are used to teach. The college arranges frequent industry visits. New innovative ideas were framed into working models and were showcased to 10000+ school students.
The capstone project is an integral part of B. Tech program in which students have to pick a live project based on practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills.
Industrial visits are organized to nearby construction sites from time to time. There, you can see actual construction work going on. Be prepare to have dust on your shoes (believe me, it will be worth a lot). You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you.
In order to enhance the learning experience of the civil engineering students, the University has established a laboratory named, Uni lab mechanical testing of building and construction material. National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) is a Constituent Board of Quality Council of India (QCI) that provides CAB (Conformity Assessment Boys) accreditation.
With better theoretical and practical knowledge, students are much more competent than any other university. LPU has very good placement records and good infrastructure, companies visit campus, L & T, Simplex Piles Ltd, Era Infrastructure, Gammon India Ltd to name a few. Thapar is the best option for engineering. There are great opportunities and placement options. It has top recruiters like Deloitte, IBM, Infosys, Microsoft, etc. So you should definitely try for Thapar.

The admissions to the second year of BE/B.Tech programmes at Thapar University will be conducted through an offline entrance test called Lateral Entry Entrance Test (LEET). Thapar is one of the best university across India and civil engineering is equally good from Thapar but to know the exact scenario for faculty and placements get in touch with the current students through social media or in person
