Should I go with 1 more attempt towards CAT or join a B-School with a placement of 6-7 lacs if I scored 58 percentile in CAT?

    Unless you are very desperate and cannot wait for another year, but if you can take CAT again next year, do the same. The colleges that you can expect the admission call will have an average package of 4-5 LPA. Even the roles for which firms will recruit you is going to be very average.

    Joining a college with 58 percentile won't ensure 6 LPA job. Usually, the placement figures of private colleges are hiked by few lakhs. Don't be optimistic that you can get the salary package above since a handful of students get a high package while the rest get the salary package below it. If you are satisfied with 6 LPA then work hard in your job, you can easily earn more than that within two years.
