Should I go with the ranking of the college and go to any top college or should i give priority to the course I wish to do?

I have cleared entrance for Jee(main), VIT, and i am positive for BITS too. I will get into one of the top college easily, but the problem is i will not be able to pursue computer science engineering. In this case i would have to go to some other college to take comouter science engineering.

    Thanks @aneeket.
Nishith, I have really not understood as to how are you so confident about clearing entrance test for top colleges, yet not getting CS branch. Please elaborate your scores and premise that you can not get CS. I will answer then.

    Dear Nishith,
I can totally understand your dilemma. However, the scenario today is that one cannot leave either of the options.
    (i) A branch of your choice but from a not so good institute = Not much value.
(ii) A not so demanding engineering branch from a good institute= Not much value either.
So to be honest, I would suggest you to go for a branch that you like and try your best to do it from a decent institute.
For top engineering branches, refer to the below links
