Should I join merchant navy or pursue my further studies abroad?
I will complete my mechanical engineering in fall 2017. I am one of the top rankers.

Hi,
Going abroad for your Masters is what I would recommend, it will give you enough exposure both in teems global and opportunities. If you are interested in merchant navy you can consider pursuing it from abroad such as Singapore, UK, Australia, Hong Kong, etc.
