The first research park in Northeast India is situated at IIT Guwahati, which is situated in Guwahati, Assam, on the banks of the Brahmaputra River. Like IITs, IIT Guwahati is classified as an Institute of Importance and is ranked 41 in the QS World University Rankings 2022 category of "Research Citations per Faculty". According to the NIRF 2022 Rankings, IIT Guwahati is placed 7th and 9th in the engineering and overall categories, respectively.&nbsp;</p><p>In the state of Andhra Pradesh, NIT Andhra Pradesh was founded in 2015. The Institute provides MS, PhD, MTech, and BTech programs. Admission to the BTech programme is determined by the JEE Mians score, whereas the GATE exam determines admission to the M.Tech program. There is a training and placement cell at the institute. The 2023 placement data have not been made public by NIT Andhra Pradesh. But the NIRF report 2023 is made public.
