This is a choice you have to make, let me make it a bit easier for you. One full year is a lot of time in formative period of career. Your choices also seem to be good. I think you must SEE the end result of your graduation vis a vis LPU and other top colleges. If you really dream big and have that tenacity in you, go for LPU and save one year. Some highlights of placements are:
    MICROSOFT INDIA = 42 LPA
    GAMESKRAFT TECHNOLOGIES = 32 LPA
    INTERVIEW BIT = 31 LPA
    CODE NATION = 31 LPA
    MEDIA NET = 29.78 LPA
AMAZON SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT INDIA LTD = 28 LPA OPTMYZR = 24 LPA
ADOBE SYSTEMS INDIA = 22.3 LPA
GOLDMAN SACHS INDIA SECURITIES PVT LTD = 22 LPA

B.Tech CSE is a branch which is most demanded as few of my friends have got an excellent placement with leading brands. LPU has the best placement for B.Tech CSE. Tanya Arora, a final year B.Tech Computer Science Engineering student of Lovely Professional University, has bagged a whopping Rs 42 Lac job offer from Microsoft. LPU alumni, Utkarsh, placed at Google HQs in Silicon Valley Rs. 1Cr. + package. LPU becomes the favorite landing place for top recruiters like Cognizant Technology Solutions, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, Amazon, Bosch Engineering, Tata Consult

But joining LPU would be a better option for you because you will save your time as well as you will get more opportunities and get quality education whereas you can get admission in LPU in the engineering programme. The eligibility for B.Tech CSE is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics and English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST^. ^LPUNEST will be exempted in case student has scored more than or equal to 90 percentile in JEE Mains or 90% aggregate marks in 10+2. I will suggest you for JEE Mains preparation and get good marks to get any good NIT or IIT. As any private university can't compete to government college. So if you can prepare for JEE Mains again then go for it.

I would prefer recent NIRF rankings released by MHRD. Where LPU is mile ahead than a mentioned name. Moreover, there are several reasons to opt LPU. # Curriculum is designed keeping in mind the industry demands and the syllabus is vetted by company officials. # Different specializations are offered to students depending upon the stream they want to opt for. For example- In CSE, they offer cybersecurity, IoT, data Science, machine learning, and many more. # LPU provides pathway to opt that whether you want to be in the corporate sector, higher studies, Government Job, or entrepreneur. # In addition to it, the classes you have to attend

To get a "free" seat at LPU, you generally need exceptional performance, like being a board topper (98%+ in 10+2/Diploma) or a national-level achiever in sports, culture, R&D, or bravery, often through early application phases (Phase-I) for significant merit scholarships, with free hostel/food sometimes included for top tiers, but "free" usually means massive fee reduction, not zero cost.
