Should I opt for BA in political science or pursue BA in public administration?

As far as your preference is concerned both courses are good and have good scope in their domain. However, if you are planning to prepare for civil services then better go for public administration. A few colleges offer BA in public administration and I know of UPES, Dehradun as one my friends is studying there. I mentioned civil services exams because the BA in public administration at UPES has a part of the curriculum dedicated to IAS coaching. You can better call and talk to the help centre at UPES and they’ll help you understand this better.

Both are good subjects, but if your ultimate aim is to prepare for civil services then go for public administration. Recently, I have heard a lot about UPES – Dehradun BA public administration with IAS coaching embedded course. This is very reputed university and known for its unique specializes courses. You should definitely check it once if you have interest in public administration field.

Both the subjects have their importance. However, Political Science has more depth. For civil services examination, students generally prefer Public Administration.
