Should I opt for BE in IT or pursue B.Tech in IT? Which is the best college for the same in North Maharashtra?

BE and B.Tech both are same only their nomenclature is different.
North Maharashtra is having many engineering colleges.

Yes, IT better than other branches of engineering so, if you have interest in IT than you should go for this.
