Should I prepare for CAT exam or gain some work experience by getting a job?

I am a software engineer. I have very less idea about the different specialisations in MBA.

If you are very good at programming and languages, then you don't even require an MBA. But if you want to do MBA, then have some experience.

It would be better if you go for a job and gain some experience, around 2-3 years in an IT comapany like Infosys, TCS, Wipro as it would help you to improve your CV and many B-Schools prefer students with work exp., so it will help in the MBA selection also. However, a good percentile in CAT along with a job is quite difficult but not impossible.
