    There are a couple of ways to apply for a government job after completion of B.Tech and securing it based on your skills. The possibilities are:
    1. Appear for GATE entrance examination after completion of B.Tech or during the final year of B.Tech. Many government organisations hire employees based on GATE scores.
    2. Appear for civil services examination. Many students try this option as well to get into government jobs.
    3. Apply for jobs in government banking sector. Many students apply for jobs in SBI and other government banks (via IBPS) to get a job in government sector. Probationary Officers (PO) and Specialist Officers (S

    The degree you choose doesn't matter if you want to get a government job. I would suggest, irrespective of degree you're anyways going to prepare for government jobs so you can pursue a normal degree to make it simple and easy for you. B.Tech degree needs a little more time and hard work than a normal degree, so it might become hard for you to make time and continue your preparation in a regular basis. Instead you can simply go for a normal degree, prepare for government jobs while managing to get good GPA's. I wish you All the Best :). .
