    Hi,
Firstly, tell that with which subjects you have completed your class 12th. You can appear for UPSC exams with any graduate degree. If you want to go for UPSC exams only then go for BA. It will help you a lot in the UPSC exams.

Greetings, Union Public Service Commission is a central level body responsible for conducting various recruitment exams for civil servants in India. Basic academic qualification of most of the exams is Graduation from any recognised university. However, there are few exams that demand graduation, in a particular field/stream as part of the eligibility. UPSC mainly conducts the recruitment process in three phases Preliminary exam, Main exam, and Interview. All the Best!

    Hi Shraddha!
You can pursue graduation in any discipline that interests you. The field of graduation is not important while you're applying for the UPSC exam. All that matters is, you must have one of the following educational qualifications:
    1. A degree from a Central, State or Deemed University
    2. A degree received through correspondence or distance education
    3. A degree from an open university
    4. A qualification recognised by the Government of India as being equivalent to one of the above.

As a matter of fact, your graduation would make only the slightest of the difference. There are optional subjects that you can choose from all the courses mentioned. I would suggest not to make choice based on your aspirations for civil. Please join a course which you are interested in, because it first requires you to be a professional in your field before you sit for services. Professionalism is what distinguishes civil servants from the remaining staff. You better long far that. Remember that the commission never expects you to be a academician or expert in GS, they just check for basic know and most importantly run tests to see if

Hi Shraddha, You can pursue any of these above-mentioned degree courses. For UPSC you must hold a pass Bachelor's degree from a recognised university. Candidates who are awaiting their final year results or are yet to take such final exam can also apply and take the prelims, but they should produce proof of passing while applying for the UPSC Mains exam.

Well, for UPSC your subjects in Bachelor's are important. You have to check if you are comfortable with all subjects. For B.Tech, you have to go through various subjects altogether. Be it CSE, Mechanical, Electrical. You should join those universities, which will give you additional guidance for UPSC exams.

U.P.S.C. requires only graduation and age above 21, you can opt any one. My aim is also same and I am pursuing B.Tech. From this year a survey shows that major section of selected candidates in UPSC were from technical field because they have high aptitude level.

In my opinion, if you want to prepare for UPSC or any other competitive exams later, you can pursue a BA in Political Science, Economics, History, or Sociology. Since their syllabus is heavily equipped with GK, Indian and world history, public policy, public administration, Indian and world politics, it'll be easier for you to strengthen your base.
