Should I pursue MBBS or appear for UPSC exam?
I am good in GK and social science. I have a good command over science too. My parents want me to pursue MBBS.

Hi Amit,
Let me tell you in simple words. A lot of students prefer a normal graduation degree than going for MBBS who aim at UPSC exams later. If you're ultimate aim is to clear UPSC exam and become a civil servant, don't think twice. Go for it. You pursuing 5 years of MBBS for UPSC would make less sense afterwards. People choose UPSC these days from among other courses because of many reasons. There can be a lot many reasons for the same.

Lack of opportunities in core fields: Every year more than 15 Lacs students pass their engineering exams and more than 3 Lacs students clear management exams in India. But, are there enough job opportunities for them in their core fields (I. e. core engineering or respective management fields) for them to be absorbed. A number of these young graduates struggle to find even a decent job (leave aside a good job). So, what options do they have except to look for alternatives like Banking, UPSC etc. Thank you. -
It totally depends on your interest. Firstly, question yourself like"in which can I do better?" Keep a lot of interest on that. According my knowledge, I think UPSC is the best choice than MBBS because I too want to appear for UPSC exams. And one more thing, if you want to appear for UPSC exam please Google "Tina Dhabi's time table" it really helps you a lot.

In my opinion, if you want to prepare for UPSC or any other competitive exams later, you can pursue a BA in Political Science, Economics, History, or Sociology. Since their syllabus is heavily equipped with GK, Indian and world history, public policy, public administration, Indian and world politics, it'll be easier for you to strengthen your base.
