Should I stay in hostel or take a room for rent while studying in Australia or Canada?

I strongly feel that one should stay in a hostel for at least first 6 months. It helps to know the university, students, teachers, place, etc. well and relieves you of the stress of finding a place. Also, the university provides basic food, wifi, electricity, etc. (the basics of living). So you can
