Taking a drop or not is solely your decision. Are you ready to study for one more year? It takes dedication, vigor, and motivation. The last thing is hard to keep. Students lose motivation after some months and end up performing bad. If you are sturdy headed, go for a drop. Personally, I would recom

Take admission first. Prepare for JEE again throughout the year with the college. First year is easy. You won't get messed up. But, you would surely mess up if unfortunately the drop year gets you to opt for among the lower colleges.
