First of all, see in which of the following categories you fall based on your reason to join the college:
1. You want to take up job in your dream company.
2. You want to learn through good quality research projects and then go for Masters in research.

The answer is generally a big 'NO'.
The placement data of most of the colleges is totally wrong. You can trust only the data given by reputed institutions like IITs, NITs or other CFTIs.
Even while viewing these reports, you should be careful.
