Sir, I am B.Tech mechanical graduate I want to do Ph.D. in material Science, how should I approach.

Is this possible to do Ph.D. directly after B.Tech by any exam, or if a Masters is mandatory can I go for a MBA (please suggest stream) else suggest for Masters. Thanks in advance.
