Congratulation on good score. To get admission in NIT Rourkela you need score atleast 70% mark in class12 for general candidates and 65% for SC/ST candidates. The opening rank for candidates seeking admission in mechanical engineering is 4709 and closing rank is 12898. Its quite difficult for getting admission in Mechanical engineering, but you can surely try for other branches as well as other NITs. You are giving preference to the college; it's okay. You just take admission in that college, you have an option to change your branch. I will suggest you go for Trichy, maintain good CGPA and change your branch.
    Good luck.

One need atleast 185 + marks to be able to stand for NIT- Rourkela for JoSAA counselling 2018. I would suggest you to go for MANIT, Bhopal, which is also a renowned NIT and the best suited with your marks.
    Best of luck.
