It's not possible for you to get admission in NITs with 55 percentile and even you have fewer chances to get admission in NIIT. To know in which college you are eligible to apply, use the college predictor tool, https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/resources/jee-mains-college-predictor.

No, you must have more than 90% in JEE Mains to appear for IIIT counseling. They have high cutoff range for JEE aspirants and you don't have that much of marks. Try for other categories of colleges.
